'Israel' aims to expand 'sinister, racist' killings in Palestine: Iran
The Iranian Foreign Ministry's comments follow the recent Israeli large-scale operation the occupation forces carried out in the West Bank, marking the largest attack in the region in over two decades.
"Israel" aims to expand its "sinister and racist" genocide and war crimes across Palestine while violating Islamic sanctities, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said on Thursday.
Kanaani issued a statement after the occupation conducted a wide-scale aggressive operation in the West Bank, urging the international community to take immediate action to end "Israel's" genocide against Palestinians.
The politician highlighted that the Israeli aggression in the West Bank, the destruction of infrastructure, and the violent entry of medical centers and hospitals align with the occupation's continuation and expansion of its ongoing genocide in Gaza.
These factors "indicate the Zionist regime’s intention to expand the scope of killing and crime against Palestinian citizens," Kanaani stated, adding that recent violations at al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque "clearly show the regime’s ominous and racist plots against the entire geography of Palestine, the Palestinian citizens as well as the Islamic sanctities of this holy land."
Iran urges UN to take action to stop Israeli aggression
The diplomat urged international organizations, namely the United Nations Security Council, to abandon its state of inaction and fulfill its legal responsibilities to stop "Israel's" international law violations and genocide against the Palestinian people.
He also commended the Palestinian people and Resistance groups' bravery and resilience in the face of the occupation's ongoing war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed that he is "deeply concerned" about "Israel's" large-scale military assault in the West Bank, according to a statement released on Wednesday, urging for the end of the aggression on Palestinian land.
The top diplomat also raised concern about Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's "dangerous and provocative acts and statements."
Israeli forces launch wide-scale aggression on West Bank
Israeli occupation forces launched an aggression, expected to be the largest in 22 years, on several governorates in the occupied West Bank late on Tuesday night.
The Israeli military command said that its forces had initiated a "wide-scale operation" in the governates of Tulkarm and Jenin, targeting Resistance fighters.
More than a dozen Palestinians have been martyred since the start of the incursion on Jenin and four others in a nearby village according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. In Tubas, an Israeli drone strike killed four Palestinians and injured others. Nearing Wednesday morning, an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle to the south of Jenin killing another three Palestinians.
Earlier today, "Israel" killed the leader of the Al-Quds Brigades' Tulkarm Brigade, Mohammad "Abu Shujaa" Jaber.
In a statement, the PRC underscored that a total of 10 Palestinians have been martyred across the West Bank since the launch of large-scale aggression which started on Tuesday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said that Israeli occupation forces are blocking emergency workers from recovering the bodies of the martyrs who were killed in Tubas.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the two martyrs in Jenin are Qassam Mohammad Jabarin and Issam Walif Balo'ut. Three others were injured in confrontations, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
Israeli media outlets said that the extensive incursions into the West Bank would involve a division's worth of Israeli occupation forces, including special Mista'arvim forces who act as undercover Palestinians.
Reports also indicate that Israeli occupation forces have blocked pathways leading to hospitals in the occupied territories.
In detail, the aggression targets the Jenin refugee camp, the al-Far'a refugee camp, and the Nur Shams refugee camp, in Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarm respectively.
Reports also indicated that Israeli forces conducted an air landing via a military helicopter in Tubas amid a large presence of ground forces in the area. Thousands of Israeli occupation troops are participating in the aggression which is expected to last for several days.
