Israeli authorities informed US President Donald Trump's administration that they were unwilling to wait two weeks to finalize a deal with Iran and considered striking the Fordow nuclear facility, Reuters reported on Saturday, citing unnamed sources.
According to these sources, "Israel" communicated its stance during a tense phone conversation with Trump administration officials on Thursday. The Israeli side reportedly viewed Trump's two-week deadline offered to Iran as too lengthy and pushed for more urgent measures.
Sources told Reuters that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Security Minister Israel Katz, and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir participated in the call. On the US side, Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were present. Vance reportedly told Israeli officials that the US should avoid direct involvement in the war on Iran, implying concerns over being drawn into a broader war.
On that note, it is worth mentioning that experts warned on Wednesday, June 18, that "Israel" may stage a false flag scenario similar to the USS Liberty operation to force the US to engage directly in the war.
The US is already assisting the Israeli occupation with supplies, intel, and refueling support, according to a former Pentagon analyst and retired Air Force Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski, who warned that if Trump resists direct involvement in "Israel’s" war on Iran, "a false flag may be needed" to force his hand.
Kwiatkowski outlined several possible scenarios "Israel" could use to fabricate a justification for US interference:
▪️An attack on US assets in the region blamed on Iran or its allies, such as the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF);
▪️A domestic terror attack or assassination attributed to Iran;
▪️An Iranian air defense strike “accidentally” hitting a civilian jetliner carrying Americans;
▪️The use of a dirty bomb or radioactive contamination staged to implicate Iran;
▪️Nuclear blackmail, threatening to strike Iran with nukes if the US refuses to join the fight.
Trump, Erdogan made covert attempts to hold talks with Iran
According to US officials on Saturday, Erdogan proposed the meeting during a call with Trump, who agreed to send Vice President JD Vance and envoy Steve Witkoff, and even expressed willingness to meet Iranian President Pezeshkian himself.
Turkish officials conveyed the offer to Tehran, but the Iranian side couldn’t secure approval from Sayyed Khamenei due to security concerns, leading to the meeting’s cancellation.
Following the breakdown, Trump posted a series of statements on his social media platform, Truth Social, addressing the war on Iran.
“Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” Trump wrote.
