The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported receiving 28 martyrs, five of whose bodies were retrieved from beneath the rubble, as well as 179 injuries over the past 24 hours alone.

The toll does not include victims of the Israeli aggression in Gaza's northern district due to the inability to reach the area, the ministry clarified. Despite tireless efforts to rescue all those targeted by the Israeli occupation, many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble under intense bombardment, rendering rescue operations and teams unable to reach their sites.

This raises the total death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to 54,084 martyrs and 123,308 injuries. The Israeli genocide in Gaza leaves an astronomical victim count, particularly amid the collapse of the ceasefire in March. 3,924 Palestinians have been killed and 11,267 others injured since March 18, 2025.

Hamas accepts US proposal for Gaza ceasefire deal

The Palestinian movement Hamas continues to defend its people militarily and politically. In addition to daily operations targeting the Israeli occupation forces, senior Hamas official Basem Naim announced on Monday that the movement has agreed to a new proposal put forward by US envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to Naim, the essence of the initiative is “to reach a cessation of war, ensure the withdrawal of hostile forces, and lay the groundwork for a permanent ceasefire.”

Naim confirmed the acceptance through a Facebook post, stating: “We await the Zionist occupation’s response.”

The announcement follows exclusive reporting by Al Mayadeen on Sunday, which revealed that both Hamas and the Israeli occupation had been reviewing a proposal drafted by Palestinian-American mediator Bishara Bahbah, in coordination and with the approval of US envoy Steve Witkoff.
