'Israel' kills 45, injures 70 in Sidon massacre in South Lebanon
The Lebanese Ministry of Health says the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon killed 45 people.
The Israeli occupation's massacre in Ain el-Dilb, southern Lebanon, killed 45 people and wounded 70 others as many remain missing under the rubble amid intensive search and rescue operations, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday.
The Israeli occupation forces had bombed a residential building in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon in a massacre that an Al Mayadeen correspondent witnessed, saying "children are torn into pieces" while breaking down crying live on air.
As Israeli hostilities escalated throughout Sunday night and into Monday, a Lebanese soldier succumbed to his injuries following an Israeli drone strike that targeted a motorcycle near a Lebanese Army checkpoint in the al-Wazzani area, our correspondent reported. The Lebanese Army confirmed in a statement that the soldier was fatally wounded in the strike while patrolling at the al-Omra-Wazzani checkpoint.
Meanwhile, the al-Khardali area is currently under heavy Israeli bombardment, further intensifying the ongoing aggression in southern Lebanon.
Two massacre in northern Lebanon
Separately, Israeli forces have committed two massacres in the city of Hermel, northern Lebanon in recent hours. An Israeli drone also launched three airstrikes on the intersection of al-Khiam and al-Wazzani towns, as well as the outskirts of Sarda, killing two more individuals and leaving several others injured.
Hours earlier, Palestinian Islamic Resistance movement Hamas mourned the assassination of one of its prominent leaders in Lebanon, Fathi Sharif, also known as Abu al-Amin, who was killed alongside his wife, son, and daughter in an Israeli airstrike that targeted their home in the Al-Buss refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli aggression continues to ravage Lebanon, with strikes hitting various regions in the South and the Bekaa Valley. The latest attack occurred this morning when Israeli warplanes targeted the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing between Lebanon and Syria.
This follows a particularly bloody day marked by heavy and relentless air raids on the city of Baalbek and surrounding villages, which killed more than 50 people and left dozens injured. Israeli military aircraft and reconnaissance drones have been persistently hovering over Lebanese skies, including the capital, Beirut.
Paramedics a main target
The Health Ministry's statement emphasized that the Israeli occupation's repeated attacks on health centers and vehicles "flout international laws and norms, particularly the Geneva Convention," which underscores the need for the neutrality of health facilities and healthcare workers in war zones to enable them to fulfill their humanitarian responsibilities.
