Israeli airstrikes on Thursday afternoon targeted a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in eastern Gaza City, resulting in dozens of casualties, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported Thursday.
The Gaza Government Media Office reported that at least 29 Palestinians were killed and more than 100 others were injured in what it described as a new massacre targeting displaced civilians at the Dar al-Arqam school in the al-Tuffah neighborhood.
Among the victims were 18 children, a woman, and an elderly person, the media office stated, adding that "the occupation has so far targeted 229 displacement and shelter centers in blatant violation of all international conventions."
"This brutal Israeli aggression comes amid an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe," the office continued. "The health sector is on the verge of total collapse due to the destruction of hospitals and the ongoing blockade, making it extremely difficult to provide medical care to the wounded."
Random bombardment kills civilians
Elsewhere in Gaza, four more Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces bombed a displacement tent in the al-Ard Al-Tayeba camp west of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the blockade Strip.
At the same time, heavy Israeli artillery shelling targeted Rafah in southern Gaza, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
In central Gaza, another Palestinian was killed, and one was wounded when Israeli forces struck a tent sheltering displaced civilians in the New Camp area, north of the al-Nuseirat refugee camp.
Meanwhile, mass displacement was observed in eastern Al-Shuja'iya, north of the Gaza Strip, as Israeli forces escalated their attacks on the area, an Al Mayadeen correspondent added.
War defies 'law, humanity'
A senior UN official has condemned "Israel's" war on Gaza, calling it "a war without limits" as aid workers continue to be targeted.
In a video conference, Jonathan Whittall, senior humanitarian affairs officer at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territory, cited the Israeli killing of 15 humanitarian workers whose bodies were discovered in a mass grave in the Gaza Strip, saying, "They were killed while trying to save lives."
Palestinian civil defense teams announced on Sunday that they had recovered the bodies of 15 martyrs in the Tal al-Sultan area of Rafah, southern Gaza. The victims, killed in an Israeli targeting, included civil defense personnel, Palestinian Red Crescent medics, and an employee for UNRWA.
Whittall called the case "emblematic" of the low point reached in Gaza, detailing how what is taking place "defies decency, it defies humanity, it defies the law. It really is a war without limits."
Hundreds martyred since aggression renewal
Since "Israel" renewed its aggression on the Strip on March 18, 2025, the toll has climbed to 1,066 martyrs and 2,597 injuries. The cumulative toll of the genocide since October 7, 2023, has now climbed to 50,423 martyrs and 114,638 injuries, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Several victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defense teams.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Security Minister Israel Katz declared that Israeli forces were expanding operations to eliminate Palestinian Resistance fighters and infrastructure while seizing large territories to be integrated into "Israel’s" security zones.
