'This should be a time to end the war': Blinken
As the US continues funding the war on Gaza, the US Secretary of State emphasizes that the only solution to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is ending the war.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Wednesday that while the United States seeks genuine and prolonged pauses in the fighting in Gaza to allow aid to reach those in need, the most effective way to help would be to bring an end to the war.
"Israel has achieved the objectives it set for itself, according to the standards it established," Blinken told reporters during his visit to Brussels, adding that "this should be a time to end the war."
On that note, the United States has confirmed it will continue its substantial military aid to "Israel", despite the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has resulted in the killing of at least 43,700 Palestinians.
On Tuesday, the US State Department stated that there were no changes to its policy regarding the weapons flow to "Israel". Spokesperson Vedant Patel confirmed, "I don’t have any changes to the US policy on the issue to announce."
This decision comes even as "Israel" has ignored a 30-day deadline set by Washington to increase aid into the war-torn Palestinian territory. Despite the apparent failure to meet this deadline, the US has opted to maintain its lethal military support. This move risks violating US laws that prohibit military assistance to parties committing "gross violations of human rights."
The United States, which provides over $3 billion annually in military aid to "Israel", has sent $17.9 billion in weapons support since October, when Tel Aviv began its genocidal campaign in Gaza.
According to the United Nations, 70 percent of the fatalities from the Israeli brutal military assault are women and children, with the majority of victims being minors between the ages of five and nine. The war has also left more than 103,400 others wounded.
'Israel' impeding ceasefire effort every single time: Hamas official
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan asserted on Sunday that the Palestinian people continue to stand resilient in the face of Israeli aggression, describing their actions as "a heroic epic on the path to liberating Palestine."
Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Hamdan emphasized that "each time a ceasefire agreement fails to materialize, it is due to the Israeli occupation's obstruction." Hamdan condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation, noting that these acts are carried out "in partnership with the United States and some Western countries."
He accused the Israeli occupation forces of weaponizing starvation tactics in northern Gaza as part of a brutal "generals' plan," stating that these measures "reveal the true, Nazi-like nature of this occupation."
