Successful attack by Yemeni army on Sudanese troops
Sudanese fighters in northwest Yemen were killed and others were injured after confrontations with the Yemeni army.
Ten Sudanese fighters were killed and at least 17 others were injured following an attack by the army and popular committees on their positions.
Many of the Saudi-backed Hadi's forces were also killed and wounded in the confrontations taking place in the al-Huthirah region.
Violent confrontations continue in Marib between the forces of the army and popular committees and the Saudi-led coalition in the eastern Balak mountain on one side and the Kara district on the other.
The fighting raged near the central al-Balaq Mountain, which immediately overlooks the Falaj point at the southern entrance to Marib in northern Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition performed 23 air raids on the eastern al-Balaq mountain range and its surroundings in the last hours.
The Yemeni army and popular committees have secured the eastern al-Balaq mountain range while continuing to advance on the southern and eastern fronts of Marib, local sources told Al Mayadeen.
"Hadi's forces and the al-Islah Party are suffering continuous tactical defeats, despite the intensive air support from the Saudi-led coalition," Al Mayadeen's sources reported.
Sources had previously told Al Mayadeen that "the al-Balaq eastern mountain range, which overlooks the Yemeni city of Marib, has been liberated."
The Yemeni Army and Popular Committees overtook a number of sites in the Qashaan mountain range and Silbah Valley in the Khabb and Al-Shaaf District bordering Saudi Arabia in Yemen's northeast.
Mount Qashaan's strategic importance stems from its oversight of the Yatama region, the administrative headquarters of the Khabb and Al-Shaaf District, as well as the Al-Ajashir desert, which stretches between the Saudi governorates of Al-Jawf and Najran.
It is noteworthy that the intense air raids of the Saudi-led coalition could not succeed in slowing the progress of the army and the popular committees in their offensive.
