$1.5B+ allocated to Biolabs in Ukraine over past 10 Years: Russian Lawmaker
After the scandalous discovery of US Biolabs in Ukraine, the Russian upper house, Konstantin Kosachev reveals that more than $1.5 billion has been allocated for the implementation of biological projects in Ukraine over the past 10 years.
More than $1.5 billion have been funded for international projects on biolaboratories in Ukraine, involving the United States over the past decade, the deputy speaker of the Russian upper house, Konstantin Kosachev, told Sputnik.
"Over the past 10 years, more than $1.5 billion has been allocated for the implementation of biological projects in Ukraine," Kosachev said.

The lawmaker explained that Moscow obtained material that reveal the development of components for biological weapons carried out in Ukrainian Biolabs near the Russian territory on a top-secret basis.
The Ukrainian health ministry's added instructions on the elimination of dangerous pathogens stocks as of February 23 prove the attempts to cover up the traces of biological activities conducted for military purposes.
"According to the data provided by our foreign ministry, the Americans participated in these projects, including experts on biological weapons, as well as individuals with diplomatic immunity," Kosachev said.
He added that the Biolabs funding was delivered within the Pentagon–initiated project on biological threat reduction program through 2024, and also via the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine.

Earlier, according to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, there are more than 300 US-funded civilian and military biological laboratories in the world.
Popova stated that there are regions with high concentrations of American labs both military and civilian, and their numbers are increasing by the day.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor detailed that against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, some countries are choosing to build new facilities around the world and the number is increasing.
