5 perpetrators of Molaye Motaghian mosque attack in Zahedan arrested
In the attack, the Imam of the Molaye Motaghian Mosque Sajjad Shahraki was killed earlier this month.
The intelligence services in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan reported the arrest of five of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in the city of Zahedan earlier this month, which led to the Martyrdom of the Imam of the Molaye Motaghian Mosque, Sajjad Shahraki.
According to the report, "The detainees confessed to communicating with anti-Islamic Republic organizations and anti-Iranian intelligence services."
The detainees also admitted to their intention to "carry out terrorist operations against Shiite and Sunni dignitaries in the province and target sensitive places in order to provoke a sectarian war in Sistan and Baluchestan."

On November 3, the Police Commander for Sistan and Baluchestan province, Brigadier General Ahmed Taheri, announced the martyrdom of the imam of the Molaye Motaghian mosque, Sajjad Shahraki, in Zahedan, after he was shot by gunmen in front of the mosque.
"A special criminal team has been assembled to identify and arrest criminals," Taheri announced at the time.
On Friday, the governor of Khuzestan Sadiq Khalilian announced the arrest of 11 perpetrators of the terrorist attack that targeted a marketplace in the western city of Izeh earlier last week, as they were trying to escape from the region to avoid investigations and try to hide the truth, noting that one of the terrorists detained was trying to flee toward Germany or France.

"There are elements outside the country behind the recent cases, which will soon be identified and introduced to the public," added Khalilian.
Earlier on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian accused "Israel" and Western intelligence agencies of planning to divide Iran and ignite a civil war, stressing that the Iranians would not be deceived by such plans.
Amir-Abdollahian said, addressing the enemies of Iran that are planning on igniting a civil war in the Islamic Republic and dividing its nation that they must be aware that "Iran is not Libya or Sudan."
