Khuzestan bids farewell to martyrs, 11 perpetrators detained
Khuzestan Province witnesses a mass popular funeral for the martyrs that were killed last Wednesday in a terrorist attack while the governor says 11 terrorists were detained as they tried to flee the region.
A large number of citizens and officials in Khuzestan Province held funerals on Friday morning for the martyrs of the terrorist attack that took place last Wednesday.
Unknown assailants on two motorcycles opened fire on Iranian police officers in the city, which led to the martyrdom of 7 people, including a nine-year-old child and a 45-year-old woman, and the injury of others.

The crowd led the funeral from the "Vilayat" square heading toward the shrine of the Martyrs.
The mourners called on the country's security and judicial services to pursue, arrest, and punish those involved in the incident, and to take decisive measures against terrorist elements and rioters.

Earlier, in a statement, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) in Khuzestan said an armed group took advantage of the riots in the city and opened fire on people and police, calling on the people of the province to attend massively the funeral of the martyrs of the terrorist operation.
The governor of Khuzestan, Sadiq Khalilian, announced the arrest of 11 perpetrators of the terrorist attack as they were trying to escape from the region to avoid investigations and try to hide the truth, noting that one of the terrorists detained was trying to flee toward Germany or France.
In the meantime, Vice-President for Economic Affairs Mohsen Rezaei announced during the ceremony the arrest of 3 main members of the terrorist group behind the attack as they were trying to flee the province.
"There are elements outside the country behind the recent cases, which will soon be identified and introduced to the public," added Khalilian.

The governor of Khuzestan confirmed that good evidence had been obtained from this incident, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, and stressed that those involved in the crime will be punished.
Yesterday, Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian accused "Israel" and Western intelligence agencies of planning to divide Iran and ignite a civil war, stressing that the Iranians would not be deceived by such plans.
Amir-Abdollahian said addressing the enemies of Iran that are planning on igniting a civil war in the Islamic Republic and dividing its nation that they must be aware that "Iran is not Libya or Sudan."

In the same context on the same day, the commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami stated that the country is facing a big conspiracy by enemies that are angered by the Iranian nation and who are collaborating with some individuals that are being deceived.
The Commander said the United States aims to destabilize and create unrest in a poverty-stricken country due to their sanctions, however, he added that the Iranian people, who are safeguarding their values, will defeat Washington's dreams of dividing the country.
