662 Israeli soldiers killed, 582 seriously wounded in war on Gaza
The Israeli occupation forces announced that the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the war on Gaza has increased to 662, as the Resistance continues to conduct massive operations against the IOF.
The Israeli occupation forces announced Wednesday that 662 of its officers and soldiers were killed and 582 others were severely wounded since the onset of the war on Gaza on October 7.
The military also disclosed that a total of 3,860 military personnel have been injured since the start of the war, with 1,947 sustaining injuries during the ground assault on Gaza.
According to the military, 378 officers and soldiers suffered severe injuries since the start of the ground operations in Gaza. 239 soldiers are still receiving treatment for their injuries sustained in the battles in Gaza, with 25 cases classified as critical.
The Israeli Security Ministry revealed that the number of disabled soldiers undergoing treatment in rehabilitation units has surpassed 70,000 for the first time, following the addition of 8,663 injured personnel since October 7.
Data from the Israeli Medical Conference indicated that over 1,000 wounded individuals are admitted for treatment in rehabilitation units each month. Furthermore, 35% of the disabled soldiers in the Israeli military are reported to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Israeli Channel 12 revealed at the start of June that 20,000 occupation soldiers have been injured in Gaza since October 7, with 8,298 being classified as disabled, coining the data as a "peak number".
While Israeli media and official hospital records have been revealing a large number of injuries in Israeli ranks, the occupation military has been attempting to conceal its losses as part of its censorship policy by not admitting the actual number of losses.
In January, the Israeli occupation army announced that it anticipated receiving up to 20,000 disability claims submitted by soldiers as a result of injuries sustained during the Gaza war by the end of 2024, the Israeli website Calcalist reported.
According to the report, the Israeli Security Ministry has contracted an external company to study cases of soldier injuries during military operations and previous wars to estimate the number of soldiers who "will be recognized as disabled and accommodated in the army's rehabilitation department in 2024."
The war on Gaza has proved very costly in terms of manpower for the occupation entity due to the fierce Palestinian Resistance and operational sophistication, which was described by top Israeli military and political officials as "not anticipated" and "surprising."
This has left the Israeli army grappling with unforeseen repercussions, particularly regarding severe injuries incurred by its soldiers, including disabilities and amputations, as well as deformities and burns in various parts of their bodies. These injuries result in substantial costs for the Israeli authorities.
