At least 72 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip on Friday as Israeli occupation forces intensified airstrikes across the blockaded strip, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported. Among the victims, 42 were martyred in Gaza City, where Israeli warplanes targeted a home on Ayediya Street in the western part of the city, leaving dozens wounded and others still missing under the rubble.

In separate attacks, seven displaced people were killed and several others injured when Israeli forces bombed tents near the Gaza port. North of the city, Israeli troops detonated an armored vehicle packed with tons of explosives to demolish homes.

Israeli aircraft also struck a residential building near al-Amal Hotel in western Gaza City, while a drone attack killed seven Palestinians and wounded 30 others near Maki Square in the heart of al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Soaring death toll since October 2023

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were martyred in Khan Younis after an Israeli strike on Jalala Street in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said the overall death toll from the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 66,288 martyrs, with 169,165 people wounded.

Since the renewed escalation on March 18, 2025, 13,420 Palestinians have been killed and 57,124 wounded.

The number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid, described as “martyrs of daily bread,” has reached 2,597, with more than 19,054 injured since the start of the war.

Genocide ongoing

Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that there are many more massacres in the Gaza Strip that will only be discovered after Israeli occupation forces withdraw. Our correspondent additionally reported a massacre at the Gaza Port, after the IOF struck refugee tents in the area.

Our correspondent reported that Israeli occupation helicopters and drones are firing on civilians' homes in the al-Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza City. Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets targeted a house in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City. East of the city, the IOF fired multiple artillery shells.

Furthermore, the bodies of 13 martyrs were extracted from under the rubble after an Israeli airstrike targeted a gathering of refugees and safe areas in Khan Younis, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported, noting that the IOF killed several people and wounded others after it targeted aid seekers in al-Tineh, south of Khan Younis.

UNRWA calls out 'Israel' for labelling Palestinians as 'terrorists'

Meanwhile, UNRWA published a statement calling for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access across the Gaza Strip, as "Israel" continues to escalate its war on the Strip.

"Tens of thousands of #Palestine Refugees continue to face repeated displacement. Families are forced to leave homes, often at great personal cost, while access to food, water, and safety remains limited," the statement published on X read.

In another post on X, the UN organization condemned the Israeli government's labelling of Palestinians in Gaza City as "terrorists", stating that this exposes "Israel's" intent to commit more massacres in the area.

It emphasized that many of those who have not left Gaza City are women, children, elderly individuals, and other groups who are unable to leave the area, amid continuous Israeli bombing and a tight siege.
