Last week, Al Mayadeen correspondent in Syria reported that a Turkish drone targeted a sponge factory in the village of Shamouka, west of the city of Al-Hasakah, citing information that casualties were recorded.
Our correspondent reported that the bombed site is less than 500 meters away from the Life Stone Resort base of the US-led "International Coalition" occupation forces, while press information said the bombing targeted the highway linking Al-Hasakah and the town of Tal Tamr.
This comes amid a wave of escalation between the Turkish occupation army and the so-called "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) that has resulted in the deaths of civilians and members of the Syrian army.
A couple of days ago, three soldiers were killed and six others were injured in an attack on several locations in the Aleppo countryside by the Turkish occupation.
A military source told Al Mayadeen that the attack is part of the Turkish regime's continuous support for armed terrorist groups.
"The Syrian armed forces responded to that aggression and targeted its sites, destroyed some of them, and inflicted human and material losses on the aggressors," the source said.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish-backed "National Army" has repeatedly targeted villages and towns in the Tal Tamr and Abu Rasin districts, northwest of Al-Hasakah, with artillery and missile shelling.
