Al-Qassam Brigades fighters destroyed or damaged a total of 71 Israeli military vehicles in the past four days, a statement released by the military spokesperson for Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, read.

Moreover, the spokesperson said the Brigades' fighters were able to confirm, first-hand, that they had killed 16 Israeli soldiers and injured dozens of others.

In fact, the Brigades conducted 42 military operations in the same period of time, killing and injuring multiple soldiers. The Resistance faction commanded a wide array of operations ranging from direct engagement to ambushes that included boobytrapping tunnels and buildings with explosives.

Finally, the spokesperson pointed to a heavy barrage of M-90 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip toward "Tel Aviv" on New Year's Eve.

On the first day of 2024, the Brigades, alongside other Resistance factions, conducted multiple operations, confirming tens of casualties among enemy forces.

Israeli forces blunders: 78 troops lost to 'friendly fire'

In Gaza City, the Brigades' units reported that they had targeted five Israeli occupation vehicles located to the east of al-Tuffah neighborhood, which saw a major share of confrontations on Monday.

A sapper unit also set up explosives near the entrance of a tunnel to the east of al-Tuffah, killing and injuring a number of Israeli special forces who had approached the booby-trapped tunnel on Monday. Israeli media reported that 11 soldiers were injured as a result of such an event in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday.

However, the most significant operation in al-Tuffah was an ambush that targeted an elite Israeli force that had made its way to al-Khalil military site in the area. The Brigades' military media reported that its combat engineers set up a minefield in one of the paths leading to the site, detonating as the elite force reached an optimal position, killing at least 15 soldiers. Multiple Israeli helicopters and rescue teams rushed to the scene of the ambush to transport the killed and wounded soldiers from the site.

These operations are just some of what the Resistance was able to execute on January 1, which corresponds to the 87th day of confrontations in the Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam's operations have also been supplemented by multiple operations conducted by other factions, which included the bombardment of an Israeli command and control center near Gaza City by artillery and mortar units of al-Quds Brigades.
