Resistance strikes down tens of Israeli soldiers across Gaza Strip
Snipers, mortars, explosives, and a minefield cost the Israeli occupation tens of casualties, including 15 deaths in one operation in al-Tuffah.
The Palestinian Resistance continued to confront Israeli occupation forces across the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring multiple soldiers.
Fighters from several Resistance factions conducted exemplary operations that have cost the occupation's military a lot, including heavy casualties, throughout its ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. In December, the occupation expanded its invasion to encompass multiple axes into the central and southern districts of the Gaza Strip.
Even though the Israeli military command pushed a total of seven battalions into Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, it still maintains activity in Gaza City, to the north, specifically in al-Tuffah and al-Daraj neighborhoods. Yet, the Resistance has managed to relentlessly confront Israeli occupation forces, devising ingenious and effective ambushes.
List of January 1, 2024 Operations
Al-Qassam Brigades
Gaza City
On this point, Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades announced at around 7:00 pm (local time) that its fighters targeted a total of 26 Israeli military vehicles, in the last 48 hours, in al-Tuffah and al-Daraj. Just recently, the Brigades' units reported that they had targeted five Israeli occupation vehicles located to the east of al-Tuffah.
The Brigades also launched an attack on a grouping of Israeli forces serving under an armored unit. Fighters launched imported tandem rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and anti-personnel explosives, confirming casualties among enemy forces.
A sapper unit also set up explosives near the entrance of a tunnel to the east of al-Tuffah, killing and injuring a number of Israeli special forces who had approached the booby-trapped tunnel on Monday. The Brigades also targeted an infantry force that had taken cover in a building in the neighborhood with a locally produced thermobaric RPG, killing and injuring members of the force.
The most significant operation in al-Tuffah was an ambush that targeted an elite Israeli force that had made its way to al-Khalil military site in the area. The Brigades' military media reported that its combat engineers set up a minefield in one of the paths leading to the site, detonating as the elite force reached an optimal position, killing at least 15 soldiers. Multiple Israeli helicopters and rescue teams rushed to the scene of the ambush to transport the killed and wounded soldiers from the site.
The Brigades artillery units also launched a rocket attack on Israeli occupation forces positioned to the east of the neighborhood, highlighting the multiplicity of military options that the Resistance holds.

Israeli media reports on casualties
The occupation's military spokesperson announced the death of one reservist in the northern Gaza Strip, amid relative quiet among authorities regarding the alarming events in al-Tuffah. On the other hand, Israeli media outlets reported on the killing of the reservist while also mentioning that two others were severely injured in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli outlets added that 11 soldiers were also injured alongside the killed soldier, however, they said that the casualties were recorded in Beit Hanoun to the northwest of the Gaza Strip. The accuracy of these reports remains questionable, as the Resistance has not announced any operation in Beit Hanoun on January 1, 2024. The total number of injured individuals reached 17, according to Israeli media, as the Israeli military command continues to impose a blackout on the casualties it suffers during its aggressions.
