The Ezzeddine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Sunday that its fighters had successfully targeted Israeli military equipment during operations in Gaza.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the Brigades said that on Saturday, its fighters struck an Israeli Merkava tank and a D9 military bulldozer with a Yassin-105 shell and a Shawaz explosive device on Street 8, southwest of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southern Gaza City.
Israeli media outlets also reported on Sunday that a soldier was moderately wounded after “armed men fired an anti-tank shell at a tank in Jabalia, hitting the vehicle.”
The announcement follows earlier claims by al-Qassam on Saturday that it had shelled a gathering of Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in the incursion axis south of al-Zaytoun using multiple mortar shells.
Two days prior, seven Israeli soldiers were wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated against a Namer armored personnel carrier in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
Al-Qassam forces kill Israeli soldier, wound others
On Friday, the al-Qassam freedom fighters successfully destroyed an Israeli troop carrier via a highly explosive landmine in the vicinity of Gaza University, south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, and subsequently observed helicopter landings for evacuation.
These operations come as Palestinian Resistance factions continue to confront the incursions of the occupation forces and inflict losses in both personnel and equipment, despite the comprehensive Israeli siege by land, sea, and air.
