The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Saturday that its fighters shelled a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers and their vehicles in the incursion axis south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, using a number of mortar shells.
On Friday, the al-Qassam freedom fighters successfully destroyed an Israeli troop carrier via a highly explosive landmine in the vicinity of Gaza University, south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, and subsequently observed helicopter landings for evacuation.
These operations come as Palestinian Resistance factions continue to confront the incursions of the occupation forces and inflict losses in both personnel and equipment, despite the comprehensive Israeli siege by land, sea, and air.
One Israeli soldier killed, two wounded in southern Gaza
The Israeli military announced on Saturday evening that a soldier from its 36th Division was killed in combat in the southern Gaza Strip, while the Israeli Army Radio reported that two other soldiers were wounded in an operational incident in the same area earlier today.
The radio also announced that the number of Israeli military fatalities has risen to 900 since the beginning of the war.
Last night, seven Israeli soldiers were wounded when an explosive device detonated, targeting a Namer armored personnel carrier in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
Israeli media also reported that the army activated the Hannibal Protocol to prevent soldiers from being captured during the attacks in the neighborhood, where confrontations continued into the early hours of Saturday with the arrival of more Resistance fighters.
