The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, announced that it destroyed an Israeli military vehicle last Sunday by detonating a highly explosive penetrative device that had been planted in advance near the al-Nujoom Hall in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
The group reported a second similar operation carried out on Monday, targeting another Israeli vehicle with the same device in the al-Musallaba area of al-Zaytoun.
Following the detonation in al-Musallaba, the al-Quds fighters observed the Israeli soldiers' evacuation operations in the area, indicating that the strike had inflicted direct damage.
The resistance faction also confirmed that its fighters launched strikes against occupation troop gatherings and a command post, underscoring its ongoing engagement in confronting Israeli forces within Gaza.
Yesterday, al-Quds Brigades fighters targeted an Israeli military command post inside Al-Furqan School in southeastern al-Zaytoun, Gaza City, with mortar rounds.
In a separate operation, the al-Quds Brigades fighters managed to seize control of an Israeli reconnaissance drone while it was carrying out intelligence-gathering missions over Gaza City's al-Shujaiyya neighborhood.
Resistance present in Gaza City despite occupation plot
The operations are intensively being carried out in Gaza City, underscoring the Resistance's presence and ceaseless operations in Gaza's largest city, which "Israel" intends to occupy. Despite relentless bombardment and a heavy Israeli military presence in the area, Palestinian fighters dominate the battlefield.
On August 17, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir approved plans to occupy Gaza City, spanning two phases: a first phase involving evacuating and blockading the city, while the second phase entails a gradual, slow military entry into the urban area.
Israeli media reported on Sunday that the Israeli army's Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, has approved plans to occupy Gaza City, with Channel Kan stating that the plan is divided into two phases and expected to take four months to execute, according to Israeli estimates.
The first phase will involve establishing so-called "humanitarian zones with essential infrastructure" in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, paving the way for a large-scale evacuation of civilians from Gaza City. This will be followed by the launch of a ground operation to encircle the city while continuing the evacuation process.
In the second phase, Israeli forces will gradually enter and occupy the city, advancing slowly while continuing airstrikes.
