The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex Muhammad Abu Salmiya on Thursday described the conditions inside the facility as "catastrophic," noting that all facilities had run out of food, water, electricity, and oxygen amid "Israel's" ongoing genocidal campaign.

"The hospital has turned into a large prison without water, electricity, and food," Abu Salmiya told reporters, adding that "the patients are crying for water and food."

He added that the IOF bombed the hospital's main water pipe. Although the oxygen reserves have been depleted, Abu Salmiya stated that hospital staff have chosen to stay in the building, refusing to evacuate without the patients.

"We will not leave the patients alone: we will live and die together. Water shortage is making it hard for us, but we will try our best to survive," he told reporters.

Abu Salmiya refuted the Israeli forces' assertions regarding alleged gunfire from the hospital's premises, stating, "There was no gunfire from inside the hospital toward the Israeli soldiers."
