Amir-Abdollahian: Iran ready to restore ties with Saudi Arabia
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian talks about the Vienna Talks and Saudi Arabia.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the current talks in Vienna are aimed at lifting US unilateral sanctions on Iran.
In order to stop its remedial measures, Iran's demands the complete lifting of US sanctions, in addition to US guarantees that Washington will not withdraw from the deal.
“Lifting sanctions means lifting all forms of sanctions stipulated in the nuclear agreement, and the sanctions that Trump reimposed contradict the terms of the agreement,” Amir-Abdollahian said. As for the guarantees, he said Iran demands guarantees "that include not imposing any new sanctions, and not reimposing sanctions after lifting them under any pretext."
Practically speaking, this means that Iran would be able to export its oil and obtain revenues through its own banking system, he said, adding that progress is being made in the talks, and Iran is receiving good news from its delegation. However, what's important are the steps the US takes and not just its words.

Dialogue with Saudi Arabia constructive
As for the Iran-Saudi dialogue, the Foreign Minister called Tehran's talks with Saudi Araba positive and constructive, stating that Iran is ready to resume its diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia.
Iran, he noted, believes in a wide regional dialogue that includes influential regional countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt. Saudi Arabia wishes to hold dialogue with Iran on regional issues, however, the current talks concern bilateral relations, he added.
Iran's Foreign Minister also noted that his country's delegation is currently on its way back to the Islamic Cooperation Council in Jeddah.
Concerning the normalization of some Arab countries with "Israel", he highlighted that Iran has warned its neighbors that they are committing a strategic mistake whose price they will pay in the future.
Iran has previously expressed its willingness to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Yemen in order to put an end to the aggression waged on the latter and seek a peaceful resolution.
