Israeli media reported that news of the death of Sergeant Meiron Mosheh Gersh, a member of the Yahalom unit of the Combat Engineering Corps, has been approved for media circulation.

The occupation's media noted that with the neutralization of this soldier, the death toll of Israeli soldiers which the IOF admits to has risen to 175 since the onset of the ground invasion into the Gaza Strip, while the number of soldiers announced by the IOF to have been killed since October 7 has risen to 509 soldiers.

Confrontations between the Resistance and the Israeli Occupation Forces continue to escalate vehemently, coupled with the ongoing intense airstrikes on civilians in Gaza. The occupation forces face fierce resistance on multiple fronts of the sector by the Al-Qassam Brigades, Al-Quds Brigades, and other factions of Palestinian resistance. The Resistance continues to tighten its control over several fronts on the 89th day of Al-Aqsa Flood.

Yesterday, on the evening of January 2, 2024, the Israeli regime assassinated the Deputy Chief of Hamas' Political Bureau Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, in the Southern Suburb of Beirut, Lebanon.

Hezbollah described the assassination as being a "dangerous development in the course of the war between the Israeli occupation and the Axis of Resistance and a serious attack on Lebanon, its people, security, sovereignty, and resistance."

The Resistance party stressed that the aggression "will not go unanswered or without punishment."

It stressed that the Islamic Resistance remains committed to the promises it made by "keeping its finger on the trigger" and that its fighters remain on high alert and maintain full readiness to respond to any development.

"This momentous day will be followed by [other days of the same importance], so endure patiently, and surely victory, by the will of Allah, is near," the group concluded.
