Berri: Coming election most important, dangerous in Lebanon's history
The Lebanese Parliament Speaker says the competing lists and foreign-backed lists focused their campaigns on targeting the Amal-Hezbollah alliance of resistance.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed Tuesday that the coming election is the most important and most dangerous in Lebanon's history.
In his speech on the election and the latest political developments, Berri pointed out that the current circumstances call for a calm political discourse that brings points of view closer and proposes solutions.
Berri indicated that the last stage since October 17 witnessed hateful sectarian incitement against the Amal movement and Hezbollah, noting that some sides are using the sectarian tone for electoral purposes and this is the height of treason.
The Lebanese leader explained that the competing lists, whether from the far right or the far left, and foreign-backed lists, focused their campaigns on targeting Amal, Hezbollah, and the resistance.
He underlined that the alliance between Amal and Hezbollah is not a sectarian or electoral alliance, but rather a strong relationship between resistance brothers.
Berri affirmed that Amal and Hezbollah both agree that the only ruler in corruption cases should be the judiciary, stressing that the alliance supports overthrowing the corrupt system.
The head of the Amal movement assured that the alternative energy file will be a priority on the agenda of the movement's representatives and ministers in the next stage.
The Lebanese Parliament Speaker underscored that every cubic meter of gas and oil facing the Lebanese maritime borders is a usurped Palestinian right, stressing that the movement will not neglect its right under any pressure and threat, as emphasized by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Monday.
Berri said that the Amal movement sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland, calling on voters to confirm adherence to the resistance and assure everyone that the resistance's martyrs are the true builders of the homeland.
