Biden expected to ban Russian ships from entering US ports
The Biden administration may ban Russian ships from entering US ports, as part of Washington's sanctions on Russia.
According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, the Biden administration may ban Russian ships from entering US ports, as part of the West's sanctions against Russia for its special security operation in Donbass.
"I expect an announcement from Washington today that will ban all Russian ships from our shores," Port of Los Angeles executive director Gene Seroka said in the report.

A White House spokesperson said that the administration has not yet made a decision on the matter. The US has so far banned all Russian flights from entering US airspace, while the UK banned Russian ships or any vessels operated or owned by individuals connected to Russia from UK ports.
The WSJ report said, however, that such a move by the US is largely symbolic, on account of Russian commercial ships accounting for less than 1% of cargo volume to the US.
Russian Foreign Ministry: Sanctions have no legal grounds
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday, that the Western sanctions have no legal grounds, and are unrelated to the current situation.
The Ministry mentioned that Moscow offered joint work, but the West blocked it, blaming them for destroying all existing international legal foundations, adding that Moscow has not yet worked out all retaliatory measures to Western sanctions. The Ministry slammed the sanctions as totally immoral.
