Casualties in Israeli raids on Beirut Southern Suburb, South, Bekaa

Overnight Saturday, the Israeli occupation launched a series of violent raids aimed at the Southern Suburb of Beirut, as well as the South and the Bekaa Valley, as part of its ongoing aggression against Lebanon.

Throughout the night and into the early hours of dawn, the Israeli occupation carried out a series of brutal and aggressive raids, specifically targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, alongside various areas in the South and the Bekaa Valley.

Southern Suburb of Beirut

As part of the Israeli attack, warplanes targeted the Southern Suburb of Beirut with a series of airstrikes, striking near Burj al-Barajneh and Haret Hreik. Thick clouds of smoke filled the sky over the area as a result of the bombardment.

According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, the occupation launched four raids on the al-Hadath area, east of the Southern Suburb. 

South Lebanon

In the South, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported an Israeli raid on the town of Dibbin.

According to the National News Agency, six people lost their lives and one person was injured in two airstrikes on the town of Jdeidet Marjeyoun last night.

#Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health reported that a paramedic was killed, while five others were injured in the Israeli airstrike targeting the Health Authority - Civil Defense center in #Bazourieh in South Lebanon.

The occupation also conducted two airstrikes on the town of al-Khiam and targeted the outskirts of Zrarieh, resulting in reported injuries.

Bekaa Valley

In Bekaa, the Israeli occupation carried out a series of raids at dawn on Sunday, targeting the town of Shmistar and its surrounding areas in eastern Lebanon. Additionally, at dawn, a raid was launched on the town of Beit Salibi in the Baalbek district, eastern Lebanon.

The occupation also conducted raids on the town of al-Sharbin, located on the outskirts of Hermel, as well as in Bodai, to the west of Baalbek.

The attacks across have resulted in massacres, the destruction of buildings and residential areas, and the targeting of economic and vital infrastructure, all part of a systematic policy of destruction.

Furthermore, rescue and Civil Defense teams are facing direct assaults, undermining their efforts to provide critical aid and assistance to those in need.

Climbing death toll 

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Saturday that the death toll of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, has risen to 2,653 martyrs, with 12,360 people injured.

In its latest update, the Ministry reported that on Friday alone, 19 Lebanese were martyred and 108 wounded as a result of the attacks. This toll includes 10 martyrs and 56 injuries in southern Lebanon, seven martyrs and 46 injuries in Nabatieh, and two martyrs with six injuries in the Bekaa region.

On Saturday, a paramedic was martyred, and five others were injured after an airstrike targeted the Civil Defense Center operated by the Islamic Health Authority in Bazourieh, southern Lebanon. According to the Ministry, this raises the total number of martyred paramedics since the beginning of the aggression to 164, with 275 others wounded.

The Ministry reiterated its condemnation of the targeting of medical centers and health personnel, calling upon the international community to put an end to these relentless Israeli attacks on humanitarian facilities.
