Chinese military introduces 'Total War' scenario
The scenario did not specify the enemy, but the arsenal of the hypothetical blue alliance includes Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers of the US Navy.
As part of the hypothetical war scenario that the Chinese military usually devises to test their new naval, it was reported today by the South China Morning Post that the Chinese military has added a new "total war" scenario to test.
The "total war" scenario was designed to simulate an attack by a supposed "blue alliance" against China, the newspaper reported citing navy scientists.
The scenario involves an all-out mobilization (as was the case in the world wars) of the military, civilians, available resources, and the national economy.
The scenario did not specify the enemy, but the arsenal of the hypothetical blue alliance includes Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers of the US Navy.
All war scenarios for testing weapons have so far simulated regional conflicts. The paper notes that in light of this unprecedented war scenario, the risk of a military conflict between China and the US is at its highest in decades.

On June 19, Chinese media quoted China's top diplomat Wang Yi warning the US to decide between "dialogue and confrontation" in its relations with China.
"It is necessary to make a choice between dialogue and confrontation, cooperation or conflict," Wang said, adding that they "must reverse the downward spiral of China-US relations, push for a return to a healthy and stable track, and work together to find a correct way for China and the United States to get along".
Misconceptions and miscalculations by the Americans about the Chinese were brought up by Wang as he called on Washington to refrain from misjudgments and adopt a responsible position instead, to amend the deteriorating ties between the globe's two largest economies.
According to a statement released by the Chinese foreign ministry, Wang told Blinken "We must take a responsible attitude toward the people, history, and the world".
Wang also reiterated that Taiwan remains a red line for China and demanded that the US "truly adhere" to its One-China policy commitment.
