Sources told Cairo News that delegations from Qatar, Turkey, and the United States continue to arrive in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh to participate in discussions surrounding US President Donald Trump's proposed plan to end the war on the Gaza Strip.
The sources confirmed on Tuesday that Egypt is intensifying its efforts with all concerned parties to reach a clear agreement and outline the mechanisms and procedures required to implement Trump’s plan.
The sources added that the Palestinian movement Hamas has expressed its readiness to hand over all living captives and the bodies of the dead. However, Hamas is demanding clarity on the operational steps for implementing the plan, as well as guarantees that "Israel" will not resume aggression on Gaza.
Details on prisoner exchange list
According to the same sources, Egyptian officials have begun reviewing the names of Palestinian prisoners who would be released from Israeli prisons as part of the proposed exchange deal.
The lists provided by Hamas reportedly include prominent Palestinian political figures such as Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa'adat, Hassan Salameh, and Abbas al-Sayyed, among others.
All parties accepted Trump’s plan: Qatar
Earlier in the day, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari stated that “all parties have agreed to Trump's plan,” adding that current challenges are limited to implementation.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty announced that Cairo is making significant progress toward ending the war on Gaza. He also noted that ongoing negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh include the creation of a security mechanism to ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
