Ennahda calls for disclosure of parties involved in targeting Saied
Ennahda spokesperson Imad Khamiri urges the government to "disclose the internal and external parties involved in the plot to target Saied”.
Tunisian Ennahda movement demanded that the parties involved in the plot to target the Tunisian President, Kais Saied, be identified.
During a press conference, the movement's spokesperson Imad Khamiri called on the government to "disclose the internal and external parties whose involvement in the targeting of Saied was proven by the Ministry of Interior."
Khamiri added that the movement "condemns any attack on state institutions, regardless of their differences," describing the Ministry of Interior's press conference as a "failed play."
“The coup authority has been harassing Ennahda since July 25 (last), and has been unable to find anything condemning Ennahda or the involvement of one of its leaders in a corruption or terrorism file,” he said.
He also expressed "Ennahda's solidarity with former Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali," stating that "his arrest is part of efforts to target, insult, and defame."
It is worth noting that the Tunisian interior ministry uncovered, on Friday, a plot to target the Tunisian President.
This is happening almost a year after Saied took several contested measures in July 2021, in the midst of a deep economic and political crisis.
