EU urges immediate probe into 'Israel's' killing of Palestinian child
Omar Awadin, 16, was killed in cold blood by the Israeli occupation forces during a raid on Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
The European Union yesterday demanded an immediate investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Palestinian child Omar Awadin by Israeli occupation troops in Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, as reported by WAFA.
In a tweet, the bloc urged for a prompt and open investigation into the child's murder, underlining that children enjoy special protection under international law.
Omar was killed alongside 3 Palestinian youths by the Israeli occupation forces during an Israeli raid on Jenin on March 16.
Omar is the 17th Palestinian minor killed by the Israeli occupation forces in occupied Palestine since the beginning of the year, as per the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the year rose to 89 as “Israel” has stepped up arrest raids and daily murders.
It is worth noting that four Palestinians were murdered in a brutal Israeli raid in Jenin last week, less than 48 hours after six more Palestinians were killed in another raid in the city. During a large-scale Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp in January, Israeli occupation forces killed nine Palestinians, including an elderly woman.
