The recent American-British aggression on Hodeidah has confirmed the two countries' "shared desire to escalate and expand the conflict" in the region, a Yemeni official told Al Mayadeen.

The Yemeni official expressed deep concern over the sustained aggression by the United States and Britain on Yemen, coupled with their ongoing militarization of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, emphasizing that these actions pose a "real and serious threat to international navigation."

Highlighting the significance of the massive popular demonstrations in Sanaa and various Yemeni provinces, the official underscored the unity of the Yemeni masses and their steadfast support of their leadership, stating that these demonstrations come "in support of Palestine and backing its legitimate Resistance."

He further explained that the large turnouts to these weekly marches oblige the Yemeni leadership to respond to the American-British aggression and continue offering military support to Palestine.

Importantly, the official told Al Mayadeen that  Yemen's response to ongoing US-UK violations "is imminent," as the official underscored a steadfast belief that the American-British aggression is "doomed to fail."

In the same context, the official pointed out that despite nine years of aggression and blockade on Yemen, the objectives that eluded American and British forces during this period will not be attainable in their renewed aggression. The Yemeni source emphasized the resilience of the Yemeni people in the face of adversity and their determination to thwart external interventions in their sovereign affairs.

Although the Yemeni Armed Forces have escalated their operations, targeting US-owned ships in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday and Thursday, Sanaa has promised a wider-scale response to the US-led violations in Yemen.

The mother of terrorism

In response to these aggressions, the Yemeni people took to the streets on Friday, organizing a "million-man march" in the capital, Sanaa.

Those participating in the demonstration, dubbed "Steadfast with Palestine, US mother of terrorism," reiterated their support for the Palestinian people and condemnation of the US-UK aggression on Yemen.

A statement from the marches in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen, declared that the US-UK aggression will not deter the Yemeni people from supporting occupied Palestine.

The statement further affirmed Yemen's steadfast stance alongside occupied Palestine, stressing its continued mobilization across various levels, including the military operations being carried out in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The protest's slogan comes in response to Washington's decision to consider Sanaa's leading party, the Ansar Allah Movement a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist." On the other hand, the Yemeni people responded by branding the US government as "the mother of terrorism."

The White House has explicitly admitted to blackmailing the Yemeni people with the designation, saying that the decision would be quickly reviewed if the YAF halts its operations in the Red Sea.

However, both officials and the masses have re-affirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, in the face of an ongoing US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
