BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Dalal Awawdeh, the wife of the hunger-striking prisoner in the Israeli occupation prisons, Khalil Awawdeh, confirmed in an interview with Al Mayadeen today, that "there is a court session scheduled for next Sunday, but the prisoner's health condition is intolerable."

Awawdeh explained to Al Mayadeen that his family "has been forbidden from visiting Khalil for about 8 months," stressing that "the prisoner is now unable to speak or move."

The wife of prisoner Awawdeh revealed that his weight "has become less than 35 kilograms, and there is fear for his life," indicating that he "suffers from severe weakness and an almost impossibility to see."

Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, 40, from the town of Idna in Al-Khalil, continued his suspended open hunger strike in refusal of his administrative detention. This came days after a previous 111-day strike was suspended, as the Israeli occupation revoked its decision to end prisoner Khalil Awawdeh’s arbitrary arrest.

The Israeli occupation issued an order to renew Awawdeh’s administrative detention for a period of 4 months from 06/26/2022 until 10/25/2022 despite his highly critical health condition, according to Muhjat Al-Quds.

Israeli media reported on Thursday "an alertness in the security and military establishments after the transfer of hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awadeh to the hospital."

Channel 12 spoke about "an alertness in the security and military establishments after the transfer to the hospital of hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner, whose release was demanded by the Islamic Jihad (PIJ) at the end of the last operation due to the deterioration of his health."

The Palestinian affairs correspondent in the Israeli Channel 12 said, “The matter will have a great impact, of course, and it must be said that this was neither the first time nor the second time he has been transferred to the hospital. We are talking about Khalil Awawdeh, a Palestinian detainee from the PIJ, who has been hunger striking for 150 days."

Human rights organizations confirmed that the prisoner Awawdeh "is at risk of martyrdom at any moment, in light of the occupation's refusal to respond to his demands to end his administrative detention, despite the seriousness of his health condition."

Yesterday, an Israeli occupation court held an unplanned court session for Awawdeh due to his deteriorating health condition. He was still in the Ramleh prison, however, without being transferred to a hospital.

The freedom of Awawdeh was one of the clauses of the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire between Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Israeli occupation, which took place earlier this week after several days of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of Palestinian civilians and wounding hundreds of others.

The head of the political department in the Islamic Jihad Movement, Muhammad Al-Hindi, said on August 7 that "a formula for the Egyptian declaration of the truce agreement has been reached, and it includes Egypt's commitment to work for the release of the two prisoners, Khalil Awawdeh and Bassam Al-Saadi."
