Khalil Awawdeh in highly critical condition: Waed Association
Hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awadeh's health is rapidly deteriorating, and his life is on the line.
The Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the life of hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, who has been on strike for 152 days in protest of his administrative detention, the Waed Prisoners Association said on Thursday.
"Incoming news from the Ramleh prison clinic about the condition of prisoner Awawdeh does not bode well, and the occupation is hiding real information about his health [condition]," the association said on Thursday.
The Waed Association reported that Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli occupation's prisons were in a state of anger and on high alert in light of "Tel Aviv's" reluctance to free Awawdeh or transport him somewhere he could be treated properly.
"Prisoner Khalil Awawdeh is at risk of brain and nerve damage as a result of his hunger strike," Israeli public broadcaster KAN said.
A video circulated online by social media users showed Khalil Awadeh's mother crying and prematurely mourning her son. "They want to kill my son. They want to kill my son. I cannot live, I cannot. I am tired, I swear I am tired. I want my son back," she cried.
"بدهم يصفوا إبني، بدهم يموتوا إبني، أنا مش قادرة أعيش، أنا مش قادرة تعبت والله تعبت، روحولي إبني مشان الله"

An Israeli occupation court held on Wednesday an unplanned court session for Awawdeh due to his deteriorating health condition. He is still in the Ramleh prison, however, without being transferred to a hospital.
The freedom of Awawdeh was one of the clauses of the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire between Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Israeli occupation, which took place earlier this week after several days of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of Palestinian civilians and wounding hundreds of others.
The Israeli occupation began on August 5 with aggression on the Gaza Strip on Friday, and Al-Quds Brigades announced that Taiseer Al-Jaabari, a military commander in the northern Gaza Strip, had been martyred.
Consequently, Al-Quds Brigades launched an operation in response to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip by launching salvoes of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Israeli occupation committed several massacres on Saturday and Sunday during the bombing of the Gaza Strip, the last of which was near the Al-Faluja cemetery, and before that, a massacre in Jabalya camp resulted in the death of five, including three children.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) official Anwar Abu Taha said Tuesday that Awawdeh was transferred to a hospital and that his family would be allowed to visit him as a prelude to ending his suffering.
The official said a delegation from the International Red Cross visited the two prisoners, Bassam Al-Saadi and Khalil Awawdeh.
The source confirmed that the Israeli occupation responded to the conditions of the PIJ, as Awawdeh was transferred to receive treatment outside the prison after contact between the Egyptian side and the occupation.
The source mentioned that the Egyptian side made contact with a senior PIJ official and conveyed a message of reassurance regarding Cairo’s efforts to implement the movement's demands regarding prisoners Al-Saadi and Awawdeh.
Palestinian prisoners' media office said on Thursday that the Israeli occupation would be trying PIJ official Bassam Al-Saadi.
Israeli occupation "justice" minister Gideon Sa'ar denied there being a political commitment from the Israeli occupation to free prisoner Al-Saadi.
"I can also say we do not have an intention to release hunger-striking prisoner Khalil Awadeh before the end of his administrative detention sentence," he added.
Our correspondent reported earlier this month that "the Israeli special force raided the house of (PIJ) movement official Bassam Al-Saadi in the camp," and Israeli media reported the arrest of Al-Saadi.
Ezz El-Din Al-Saadi, the son of the PIJ official, said that the occupation arrested his father and his brother-in-law, noting that his father "was injured during the storming," and he "does not know where they were both taken."
Israeli media said that the Israeli forces arrested PIJ official Al-Saadi, who was wounded before being captured, revealing reports about a serious injury he sustained in his abdomen.
