Four aid flights to Gaza planned by Turkish Air Force: MoD
Upon Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's request, Turkey plans to send humanitarian aid packages to Gaza.
Given the intensifying Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Turkey's defense ministry announced on Monday that the nation's air force, under the command of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is organizing four flights carrying humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip.
"We have started loading the humanitarian aid packages prepared upon the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which include mainly medical supplies, onto air force planes. As soon as our planes are ready, they will fly to Egypt. Four flights have been scheduled to deliver humanitarian supplies to the region," the Ministry wrote on X.
Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar promised the Gaza Strip $10 million in humanitarian aid last week.
A UN convoy crossed the border into Egypt at Rafah on Saturday to bring the first shipment of humanitarian aid from abroad to the Gaza Strip. Earlier this morning, the second relief convoy made its arrival.
Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said yesterday that Turkey will dispatch a plane loaded with medication and medical experts to Egypt on Sunday to assist forcibly displaced Gazans at the Rafah crossing border.
The minister further mentioned that the Turkish medical experts will conduct assessments for the potential establishment of field hospitals at El-Arish Airport and Rafah Border Gate, vowing that Ankara would send the field hospitals and ambulances later.
Just a humanitarian band-aid!
For the past 16 days, 'Israel" has imposed a total blockade on Gaza amid non-stop brutal bombardments of residential buildings, UN schools, bakeries, ambulances, and even hospitals.
In short, there is no safe place in Gaza where a considerable number of people are enduring extreme hardship, with limited access to food, often reduced to just one daily meal, and facing severe water shortages. Additionally, hospitals are faced with a shortage of medical supplies and fuel to power their generators while tending to the overwhelming number of casualties resulting from the brutal airstrikes.
On October 7, Hamas surprised "Israel" by launching a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. To completely cut off the Gaza Strip, home to over two million people, "Israel" began retaliatory strikes and issued an order to cut off fuel, food, and water supplies. Later, the embargo was loosened to let vehicles carrying supplies enter the Gaza Strip. Thousands of people have died and been injured due to the conflict's intensification on both sides.
