A source in the Damascus Police Command told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that "the sound of the explosion heard on Sunday in Damascus was caused by the explosion of an explosive device in a civilian vehicle in the Mezzeh area."

Moreover, the source confirmed that no injuries were recorded, however, the detonated explosive resulted in the burning of the targeted car as well as those in the vicinity and damaged the building adjacent to the explosion.

At dawn on Sunday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent, in Lebanon, reported that the Israeli aggression targeted military sites in the western and eastern countryside of Homs, adding that Syrian air defenses intercepted the missiles.

Later during the day, Israeli media reported that the missiles targeted "Iranian-backed Hezbollah drone activity," noting that the attack destroyed "an aircraft shed, a UAV communication station, and a communication vehicle."

According to Israeli media, shortly before the Mezzeh explosion, a drone flew from Syria and entered Israeli airspace crossing to the Houla valley, where it was downed by the Israeli Occupation Forces.

It is also worth noting that there is increased Israeli fighter jet activisty in the airspace of Lebanon, Syria, and the Mediterranean sea. Journalists and residents in Southern Lebanon also reported hearing sounds of explosions which turned out to be an Israeli simulation where fake raids were conducted.

It is also worth noteworthy that last Friday, Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli aggression that targeted the south of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

It came less than 24 hours after Israeli airstrikes that targeted the vicinity of Damascus left two Syrian army personnel injured and caused material damage. Following the aggression, the Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that "the Israeli terrorist aggression that targeted some points in the vicinity of Damascus city this morning is nothing but a continuation of the fascist method of the Israeli entity towards the peoples and countries of the region."

It added that "the region cannot enjoy peace or stability unless an end is put to the Israeli occupation and its repeated attacks."
