A fuel tank is on fire in the area of the Kazachya ('Cossack') bay in Sevastopol, likely due to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) hit, Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev announced on Saturday, blaming the incident on two drones.

"A fuel tank is on fire near Manganari Brothers Street in Kazachya Bay. According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a UAV hit ... The fire area is about 1,000 square meters [10,764 square feet]," Razvozhayev confirmed on Telegram.

Russian forces destroy Ukrainian strongholds in Donetsk: Russian MoD

In a separate context, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson confirmed that Russian artillery has destroyed a stronghold of Ukrainian troops in the area of the city of Ugledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

"Artillery fire also destroyed the enemy's stronghold in the area of Ugledar; five militants were eliminated," the spokesperson told Sputnik.

The official said that Russian TOS-1A "Solntsepek" (Blazing Sun) thermobaric rocket launchers attacked two strongholds of Ukrainian troops in the Marinka district in DPR, noting that over ten militants were eliminated.

Russian forces have destroyed a Ukrainian reconnaissance group in the Zaporozhye region. Near the village of Charivne, the delivery of equipment to Ukrainian positions was disrupted and a truck and three militants were eliminated.

In addition, Russian artillery destroyed a Ukrainian stronghold near the village of Mala Tokmachka, the Russian spokesperson told Sputnik.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, signed agreements on the accession of these territories to Russia, following referenda that showed that an overwhelming majority of the local population supported becoming part of Russia.

Western countries have significantly increased their economic and military support for Kiev, which now includes air defense and multiple rocket launching systems, tanks, self-propelled artillery, anti-aircraft guns, armored vehicles, and various types of ammunition. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in January that arms supplies to Ukraine by Western countries testify to their direct and growing involvement in the conflict.
