The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to escalate as the Israeli genocide shows no signs of abating.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, 81 Palestinians were martyred in 24 hours, and 422 others were injured. These numbers come amid relentless Israeli attacks that have left many more victims trapped under debris or lying lifeless in the streets, inaccessible to rescue and medical teams due to the ongoing bombardment.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, Gaza has endured one of the deadliest and most prolonged military campaigns in recent history. The total death toll has now climbed to 56,412 martyrs, with 133,054 injured, a staggering reflection of the scale of destruction and suffering inflicted on the population.
Since March 18, 2025, the Ministry reported 6,089 martyrs and 21,013 wounded, a clear indication of the intensified aggression in recent weeks.
Israeli genocide ongoing
More than 25 Palestinians were killed early Saturday as Israeli occupation forces intensified their deadly aggression on the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian neighborhoods, aid centers, and shelters housing forcibly displaced families, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported.
In Khan Younis, in the south, airstrikes pounded residential areas, with one of the heaviest barrages striking the Qeizan Abu Rishwan district, where multiple homes were reduced to rubble. The Batin al-Samin area, also south of the city, was hit by a wave of aerial attacks.
In a particularly harrowing incident, the Israeli army bombed a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in al-Mawasi, an area they had previously designated as a "safe zone". Six people, including three siblings from the Abu Sitta family, were killed, while others sustained injuries.
The horror of the al-Mawasi massacre quickly spread across social media, with haunting visuals and eyewitness accounts underscoring the brutality of the attack. Palestinian journalist Muhammad Smiry posted a chilling message on X: “Israel buried women and children alive in Gaza.”

Simultaneously, Israeli forces issued mass evacuation orders to residents in central Gaza, instructing them to move westward toward al-Mawasi, only to later strike those very locations.
In Rafah, the Nasser Medical Complex confirmed the killing of one Palestinian and injuries to others after Israeli occupation forces opened fire near an aid distribution center in the north of the city.
North of Gaza City, artillery shelling hit the Adnan Al-Alami School, which was being used as a shelter, killing two and injuring several others. The Safatawi roundabout area also witnessed tragedy as medics retrieved the bodies of three Palestinians killed in a drone strike.
In Jabalia al-Balad, artillery fire struck two homes, killing three children and injuring others. In central Gaza, east of Deir al-Balah, two members of the Hamidi family were killed in an airstrike, while bombardment persisted near the al-Bureij refugee camp.
Gaza's health sector on the brink
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has issued a dire warning that Gaza’s health infrastructure is nearing collapse. The continued blockade of medical supplies and fuel is severely hindering humanitarian operations.
According to the World Health Organization, 112 children are being admitted to hospitals across Gaza each day suffering from acute malnutrition, a direct result of "Israel’s" systematic targeting of aid distribution points and its use of starvation as a weapon of war.
UNRWA chief condemns Israeli aid scheme in Gaza as 'killing field'
The head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees has issued a strong condemnation of "Israel's" so-called aid distribution system in Gaza, accusing it of facilitating mass killings under the guise of humanitarian assistance. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini called out the deadly reality behind the operation, which has led to the deaths of more than 400 Palestinians in just one month.

"The new aid distribution system has become a killing field," Lazzarini wrote in a post on X. "Over 400 starving people reported killed since it started operating just a month ago. They were shot at while trying to access food for themselves and their families."
In a related development, UNRWA said in a post on X that the health response in the Gaza Strip is facing catastrophic operational failure amid unrelenting Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, medical operations are crippled by extensive damage to health facilities, severe shortages of fuel and medical supplies, and the ongoing obstruction of humanitarian access.
UNRWA warned: "The health response in the Gaza Strip continues to face severe operational challenges, including extensive damage to health facilities, obstacles to safe movements and restrictions on the entry of medical supplies and critical fuel."

As the genocidal campaign drags on, the scenes from Gaza grow only more harrowing, displaced civilians killed in so-called safe zones, aid centers attacked, and families wiped out under the rubble of their homes.
