Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, reaffirmed that Iran’s missile capabilities are an internal matter, rejecting Western interference as “fabricated allegations” aimed at undermining the Islamic Republic’s sovereignty.
Speaking at the closing session of a conference titled “We and the West in the Thought of Imam Khamenei” in Tehran, on Monday, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) stressed, “Our missile power is not the West’s concern," adding: “Iran will not surrender to false claims."
Larijani accused Western countries of using dialogue as a pretext to subdue Iran, stating that "the West seeks domination over the Iranian people and wants negotiations only to subjugate us."
He added that “the nuclear file was merely an excuse for the West to wage a broader confrontation against the Iranian nation.”
According to Larijani, Iran’s national strength and the resilience of its armed forces “forced the enemy to retreat and act rationally,” particularly in light of recent regional conflicts, stressing: "Never before have the faces of America and the Zionist regime been so hated worldwide."
Western hegemony and Trump’s policies
The Iranian official criticized the United States and its allies for basing their foreign relations on power rather than cooperation. “The current US president, Donald Trump, boasts of peace through threats. He is the main enemy of nations’ independence,” Larijani said.
He added that Washington’s “peace through power” approach has turned global diplomacy into a struggle for domination. “The West once claimed to stand for science and freedom of thought, but the result was two world wars,” the SNSC secretary said.
"Today, it has tied global relations to power," he underscored.
Larijani further accused Washington of fueling global instability through military aggression and political manipulation, warning: "The United States created Daesh (ISIS) to spread chaos, and today it is once again returning to ally with it."

Balanced relations and firm resistance
While emphasizing that Iran has never sought enmity with the West, Larijani said that Western interference has repeatedly undermined cooperation. “Our policies were never anti-Western; it was their behavior in the political and security fields that created crises,” he explained.
He reaffirmed that Iran does not reject dialogue but refuses to negotiate under pressure, noting that "Iran has never abandoned the table of dialogue."
“But we will face these pressures with national resistance that preserves our sovereignty and dignity,” Larijina stated.
He also cautioned against Western cultural influence, saying that the West uses technology as a tool for control. Quoting the philosopher Allama Iqbal, he lamented that “the West, through its godless thought, has turned knowledge into sorcery.”
Concluding his remarks, Larijani urged Iranian political leaders to prioritize unity and national will over divisive rhetoric, stressing that "Iran stands for national identity and genuine independence."
"If the West abandons its lust for domination, conditions will change, but the threats of America will never break the will of the Iranian nation."
