Greek PM assures Netanyahu of 'Greece's support for Israel'
The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that Greece supported "Israel's right to defend itself," from the first moment.
On Monday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Israeli-occupied Palestine and expressed that Athens supported "Israel" in its aggression on Gaza.
He expressed that Greece "from the very first moment" defended the so-called Israeli right to "Defend itself in line with international law."
"I come here not just as an ally, but as a true friend. What happened was truly horrible. Greece, from the very first moment, defended and supported the right of Israel to defend itself in line with International Law," Mitsotakis was quoted as saying by his office.
He also hoped that the Israelis would be able to avoid 'a significant humanitarian cost' in the conflict.
"I appreciate the solidarity of you, your government, the people of Greece, at this darkest hour," the Israeli prime minister said.
Mitsotaki's sentiment was not shared by former Greek Minister of Finance Yanis Varoufakis, who expressed previously that "Israel" committed numerous war crimes.
On his official website, he provided "a 'chapter-and-verse’ list of war crimes that Israel has committed since the Hamas Offensive of 7th October."
The war crimes include inciting genocide, willful killing, torture, attacking civilians wilfully, using white phosphorous, attacking humanitarian assistance, and numerous other war crimes.
On Monday, the government media office in the Gaza Strip stated that "occupation aircraft launched dozens of raids last night on different governorates in the Strip."
The government office explained that some of these raids directly targeted more than 18 houses and residential buildings inhabited by civilians, resulting in dozens of martyrs and hundreds of injuries, adding that 17 were killed in one of the bombings.
Last night was considered one of the most violent nights in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression after the occupation committed more than 25 massacres that led to the death of around 400 martyrs and hundreds of wounded.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll had increased to 4,741 martyrs and 15,898 wounded due to the ongoing aggression on Gaza for the 17th day in a row.
