The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned statements by Israeli occupation Security Minister Israel Katz, who declared that anyone remaining inside Gaza City would be considered either a fighter or a “supporter of terrorism.” Hamas said such remarks reflect “arrogance, contempt for the international community, and a blatant disregard for the principles of international and humanitarian law.”
In a press statement, Hamas stressed that the actions of the Israeli regime’s leaders against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, particularly in Gaza City, amount to crimes of ethnic cleansing and systematic forced displacement “carried out with brutality and in full view of the world.”
The movement pointed to the ongoing military assault on Gaza City, marked by relentless airstrikes on residential homes, massacres such as the killing of the Abu Kamil family in the al-Daraj neighborhood, and the targeting of al-Falah School in al-Zaytoun. It also noted the killing of civil defense workers, an attack on a water truck that left civilians dead, and repeated bombings across the central and southern areas of the Strip.
Hamas urged the international community, as well as Arab and Islamic states, to take immediate action to halt the unprecedented violations, to deter the occupation, and to ensure that its leaders are prosecuted for crimes against humanity.
Genocidal campaign continues
The Israeli occupation continues its genocidal war and starvation campaign against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, killing dozens and injuring hundreds on a daily basis.
Israeli forces bombed a home west of Deir al-Balah, committing a massacre that left a mother and her six children martyred.
In a separate incident, six other citizens were martyred and several wounded after the Israeli occupation targeted aid distribution centers in the central Gaza Strip once again.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported on Tuesday that 50 Palestinians, most of them starving civilians in the central Gaza Strip, were martyred since dawn.
