Hamas refutes Reuters' report on Khamenei, Haniyeh meeting details
Hamas denies the Reuters report on the content of the meeting between Ismail Haniyeh and Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Hamas denied the accuracy of Reuters' report on the meeting content between Ismail Haniyeh, the head of its political bureau, and Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The movement regrets the "publication of unfounded news," urging the agency to investigate its accuracy.
Reuters falsely claimed that three senior officials from Iran and Hamas said Sayyed Khamenei “sent a clear message to Haniyeh when they met in Tehran in early November.”
The agency falsely claimed that Sayyed Khamenei indicated that “Hamas did not inform Iran” about Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, which it launched on October 7th, and therefore, “the Islamic Republic will not enter the war on its behalf.”
It also reported that Sayyed Khamenei informed Haniyeh that Iran would continue to provide political and moral support to the movement without direct intervention, further claiming that a Hamas official told the agency that Sayyed Khamenei also reportedly asked Haniyeh to “silence those voices” in Hamas calling for Iran and Hezbollah to directly join the war against "Israel" “in full force”, which Hamas denied and stressed was not addressed during the meeting.
Earlier this month, Sayyed Khamenei received a report from Ismail Haniyeh during their meeting about the most recent events in Gaza, the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, and recent developments in the West Bank.
For his part, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed once again how appreciative he is of the perseverance and fortitude of the unwavering people of Gaza and expressed his strong condemnation of the atrocities carried out by the Zionist government, which was directly aided by the US and other Western nations.
Iran has consistently supported the Palestinian Resistance forces in their fight against the Zionist occupation, as Sayyed Khamenei highlighted.
The Iranian leader also emphasized the necessity of Islamic nations and international organizations taking significant action, as well as the Islamic governments' all-encompassing and useful support for the Gazan people.
