The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas confirmed on Wednesday that mediators are exerting intense efforts to bridge gaps between negotiating parties and lay the groundwork for a potential framework agreement to end the ongoing war on Gaza.
In an official statement, Hamas said it was approaching the current phase of talks with a high sense of responsibility, holding national consultations to evaluate the proposals received from mediators.
The movement emphasized that its primary objective in these discussions is to achieve a deal that guarantees a complete end to Israeli aggression, ensures the withdrawal of the occupation forces, and enables the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Trump says 'Israel' accepted ceasefire terms
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israeli officials have agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, during which a broader agreement to end the war will be negotiated.
The Israeli occupation regime and the US have used this playbook before: agreeing to temporary ceasefires under the pretext of humanitarian concern or captives' releases, only to exploit the pause, extract captives, regroup, and resume the assault with greater force.
In past truces, brief lulls in the killing were followed by intensified bombardments, revealing that these deals often serve as tactical resets rather than genuine steps toward peace.
The pattern underscores a grim reality: the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians remain the strategic endgame.
Trump confirmed that Qatar and Egypt, key mediators in the ceasefire talks, will present the final deal to Hamas, urging the Palestinian Resistance to accept it.
“My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” he explained.
“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” the US president threatened.
Deal expected next week
Earlier Monday, the president repeated his prediction that a ceasefire and captive deal would be reached shortly. “I think we’ll have a deal next week,” he said.
This comes after Trump said earlier he will discuss the situations in Gaza and Iran during his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, expressing hope for a Gaza ceasefire very soon.
As Gaza endures relentless and devastating massacres, Netanyahu is set to visit Washington early next week for talks with US President Donald Trump, The Times of Israel reported, citing a White House official.
The visit comes amid claims that Washington is intensifying its efforts to end the war on Gaza and secure the release of Israeli captives. However, it is important to note that the US remains complicit in "Israel’s" ongoing aggression for over 600 days, providing military funding, arms, and consistently vetoing ceasefire resolutions at the United Nations.
