He aspired for martyrdom: Al-Hassani's brother to Al Mayadeen
Iyad Al-Hassani's brother tells Al Mayadeen that Abu Anas and his fellow martyrs have always prepared Resistance fighters who will continue to confront the enemy until liberation.
Fayez Al-Hassani, the brother of Al-Quds Brigades martyr Commander Iyad Al-Hassani (Abu Anas), stressed that no matter how many Palestinians the Israeli occupation kills, hope remains in the Resistance legacy the martyrs left behind for the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking from Gaza City in an interview for Al Mayadeen, Al-Hassani said that the Israeli enemy is a coward and cannot and will not dare to engage in a face-to-face confrontation.
Al-Hassani said martyr Iyad and his fellow martyrs have always prepared Resistance fighters who will continue to confront the enemy until the liberation of the entire land of Palestine.
"Our people are suffering, but they are always innovative in confronting the Zionist enemy; the enemy must always fear us."

He stressed that Abu Anas is a martyr that has fallen for the sake of the entire nation and that the people of Palestine are the spearhead of the entire nation in its fight against the enemy, stressing that the people of Gaza are getting much stronger despite the great wounds that they sustained.
He revealed that during all his confrontations against the Israeli occupation, Commander Al-Hassani had always aspired for martyrdom and awaited this moment, indicating that the martyr's family was expecting his martyrdom at any moment.
On Saturday, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement mourned Commander Iyad Al-Hassani, saying the martyr "lived his life as a freedom fighter, an educator, and a Resistance advocate, devoting his life to the Resistance and taking on many roles as a commander and a fighter."
The PIJ underlined that it would uphold the principles of the Palestinian Resistance regardless of the price and the sacrifices made toward the cause, stressing that "the response to this crime will continue."
Earlier today, hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip attended the funeral of Al-Hassani and his companion, martyr Mohammad Abdul Aal, who were assassinated by the Israeli occupation forces on Friday.

It is noteworthy that Fayez Al-Hassani is the father of Al-Quds Brigades leader Rimah Al-Hassani, who was assassinated in the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip in 2011.
He is also the brother of Zaki Al-Hassani, who was martyred in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in 1976, and the nephew of Fahmy Al-Hassani, who was martyred during a Palestinian Resistance operation in the 1960s.
For the fifth day in a row, the Israeli occupation continues its heinous aggression against Gaza, targeting residential houses in the north, center, and south of the Strip.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed in the aggression rose to 33 martyrs, including six children and three women, and 147 people were wounded.

Who is martyr Al-Hassani, Al-Quds Brigades Operations Unit Commander?
Iyad Al-Hassani joined the PIJ early on after it was founded in the 1980s. He is one of the most prominent leaders of Al-Quds Brigades and one of the most wanted Resistance leaders by the Israeli occupation, for more than 26 years.
The martyr is one of those who supervised martyrdom operations against the Israeli occupation in occupied Palestinian cities under the PIJ's former military wing (Qasam) and is the commander behind a series of other resistance operations during the second Palestinian Intifada.
Al-Hassani is considered one of the founders of (Qasam) and one of the most wanted by the Israeli occupation forces, due to his great role in planning martyrdom operations inside illegal Israeli settlements during Al-Aqsa Intifada.
One of the most prominent operations that the martyr supervised was the Beit Lid operation, which resulted in the death of 22 Israelis and the wounding of 63 others, including 20 seriously.
Al-Hassani was one of the masterminds of the Beit Lid double operation, which is one of the most prominent PIJ operations carried out by Anwar Sukkar (Al-Shujaiya) and Salah Shaker (Rafah), on January 22, 1995, that targeted a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers at the Beit Lid crossroads.
Yedioth Ahronoth described it as "the most severe operations that targeted the Israeli army inside the Green Line."
The martyr was the commander of Al-Quds Brigades' Operations Unit for years. He played a crucial role in confronting Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip and the rocket firing toward "Israel" during the past years.
In a previous statement made on April 2022, Al-Hassani said there is complete readiness to confront new developments, pointing to a new phase launched by the heroes of Operation Freedom Tunnel and the Jenin Brigade.
During a PIJ meeting held in the city of Rafah, Al-Hassani said the military leadership is satisfied with the readiness of Al-Quds Brigades for all possible scenarios and to surprise the enemy. He also touched on the Resistance situation in the occupied West Bank.
It is noteworthy that since the start of the aggression on Tuesday, the Israeli occupation assassinated Al-Quds Brigades commanders Jihad Ghannam, Khalil Al-Bahtini, Tarek Ezzedine, Ali Hassan Ghali, Ahmad Abu Daqqa, and recently Iyad Al-Hassani.
