Hezbollah preparing 'surprises', settlers want answers: Israeli media
A senior Israeli military officer says the current situation in the occupation entity is tense and similar to the atmosphere ahead of the "Yom Kippur War."
Hezbollah is preparing "surprises" for the occupation entity, Israeli media warned on Thursday, leaving the occupation entity in a state of high alert amid uncertainty about the Resistance group's plans to confront continued Israeli aggressions.
The current situation on the Palestinian-Lebanese border "reminds us of the atmosphere that prevailed before the Yom Kippur War" (October 1973 war), said Brigadier General Uri Agmon of the "Commanders for Israel's Security" organization.
Agmon addressed Hezbollah's recent activity on the border, amid Israeli assurances that the situation is under control.

He reminded that the Israeli leadership made the same assurances prior to the October 1973 war, which marked significant losses in the ranks of the occupation's army and military hardware, when the Syrian and Egyptian armies were conducting increased military exercises and intensifying training.
"The Israeli leadership reassured us [then] and told us: 'Nothing, it is training, and nothing will happen.'"
Settlers are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the visits made by the Chief of Staff, the Minister of Security, and the Prime Minister to the border, as well as their meetings with the commander of the 91st Division, which took place yesterday, he continued.
"People are living in a state of anxiety and want answers," and reassurances regarding the readiness of the military and security establishments.

"The atmosphere we live in today is very tense," the senior military official said, adding that the political situation in "Israel" indicates that the institutions are not devoted enough to "give answers to the population."
Agmon explained that the threat emanating from Lebanon is divided into two parts: the first is the threat of missile strikes, and the second is the "flat threat", which is based on the possibility of Hezbollah fighters crossing over to occupied Al-Jaleel.
This matter is being discussed in Hezbollah media, he claimed.
He concluded his remarks by saying that the most serious problem we are currently facing "in this war is the element of surprise."
"Israel" Hayom newspaper reported earlier that the occupation army "is preparing for the possibility of an escalation on the border with Lebanon" and has placed a set of expected scenarios.
In light of the internal political crisis related to the judicial reforms, the unusual border incidents between "Israel" and Hezbollah in recent weeks and months indicate a significant rise in the possibility of war, the report said.

Last month, a number of Resistance fighters were spotted by Israeli occupation soldiers walking along the UN 2000 Blue Line near the settlement of "Dovev" in the upper Al-Jaleel, while Israeli media said "intelligence indicates that they are concealing weapons."
"Today, Hezbollah has drawn another card, in the game that has been being played in recent weeks on the northern border and has published a video showing the chief of staff of the Israeli army and the commander of the northern region," Channel 12's correspondent in the north, Guy Faron, said then.
He added that this is proof of a well-known fact: that is the geographical upper hand of Hezbollah in the north of occupied Palestine. In the northern region, Hezbollah has surveillance and the capacity to make a move against settlers, and not only the Chief of Staff who had arrived on a tour of the fence.
