The Hind Rajab Foundation today sounded the alarm over what it calls a "serious and imminent security threat" against its president, Dyab Abou Jahjah, and his family, accusing actors linked to Israeli security networks in Antwerp of orchestrating the danger.
In an official statement, the foundation asserted that "individuals linked to Israeli security networks active in Antwerp, and with possible connections to extremist organizations such as the Jewish Defense League, are involved" in the plot. It also warned that some of these structures may be tied to official Israeli state bodies, suggesting the threat is not merely fringe but institutional.
While stating that the threat is first and foremost to Abou Jahjah's personal safety, the foundation described it as a direct attack on its work seeking accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
Belgian police and security services have reportedly stepped in, reinforcing protective measures around Abou Jahjah and closely coordinating with the foundation.
Justice Under Threat
Abou Jahjah is a Lebanese-Belgian writer and activist, known for his outspoken defense of Palestinian rights. He co-founded the Hind Rajab Foundation (the legal arm of the March 30 Movement) in 2024 to file litigation worldwide against Israeli military personnel accused of atrocities in Gaza.
In a notable earlier clash, Abou Jahjah filed a criminal complaint in Belgium in January 2025 accusing Israeli "Diaspora Affairs" Minister Amichai Chikli of issuing threats against him, a move that subsequently led to Chikli canceling a planned visit to Belgium amid fears of arrest.
The foundation's announcement arrives amid growing legal pressure on "Israel": in July 2025, Belgian prosecutors questioned two Israeli soldiers over alleged war crimes in Gaza after HRF filed an urgent complaint based on social media evidence.

For Palestinians and their allies, the threat against Abou Jahjah reflects the dangerous environment faced by those who dare to challenge Israeli impunity, and it reaffirms the foundation's resolve to pursue justice even under pressure.
The Hind Rajab Foundation declared that "we will not be intimidated," calling on state authorities to respond with the urgency and seriousness the threat demands.
