In a letter, Raisi calls on 50 leaders to put Israeli crimes on halt
Raisi urges the heads of state of Russia, China, Turkey, South Africa, and numerous others to cooperate to prevent the crimes being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Addressing the presidents of 50 countries, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called for the unity of free nations in the course of lifting the siege of Gaza and putting an end to the atrocities of the Zionist regime in Palestine.
Amnesty International, in its continuous investigation into violations of the laws of war, has recorded two representative incidents where Israeli airstrikes resulted in the killing of 46 civilians, including 20 children. The age range of the victims spanned from an 80-year-old woman to a three-month-old baby.
Raisi sent a letter to the heads of state of Russia, China, Turkey, South Africa, and numerous others urging them to cooperate to prevent the crimes being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Raisi criticized the silence of Western governments and their double standards when it comes to Palestinian lives since more than 13,000 have been killed by "Israel".
In addition, thousands of children have been killed by the ongoing Israeli occupation airstrikes for over a month.
The toll stands at over 5,600 martyred children and approximately 9,000 injured in Gaza; i.e. one Palestinian child killed every 10 minutes or about one out of every 200 children in the Gaza Strip.
Free and independent nations, particularly Islamic countries, are urged to take a consistent and unified stance in order to exert pressure on the occupying government and contribute to the end of the siege of Gaza and the regime's atrocities.
The Iranian President also urged countries to employ all possible means, including severing business and political relations with the Israeli occupation.
Last week, Raisi emphasized during a joint press conference with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon that "all the conscientious people" are deeply concerned over the fate of the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza. He reiterated that Palestine is an issue of concern for humanity in general and Muslims in particular.
Lavrov to discuss Gaza situation with Arab League, OIC on Nov 21
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to engage in discussions with several foreign ministers from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) nations regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Moscow on November 21, as confirmed by Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, on Monday.
"Tomorrow Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to meet with delegations of a number of foreign ministers of the Arab League and OIC countries in Moscow, who will arrive in the Russian capital in accordance with the decision taken at the Riyadh summit to discuss the situation around the Gaza Strip," Zakharova said.
Earlier today, Arab and Muslim ministers urged for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza during their visit to Beijing, marking the initial stage of a diplomatic tour aiming to advocate for an end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza and facilitate humanitarian aid to the devastated Palestinian Strip.
Additionally, the delegation intends to exert pressure on Western nations to reject "Israel's" "self-defense" justification for its ongoing aggression against Palestinians.
