Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and Israeli settlers launched 1,705 attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank last month, a recent study from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed.
The commission's director, Muayyed Shaaban, stated in the report released Monday that IOF were involved in 1,475 of these attacks, while Israeli settlers carried out 230. Nablus witnessed most of the attacks with 300, followed by al-Khalil with 267, and Ramallah with 263.
Shaaban said Israeli settler attacks were most common in Nablus and al-Khalil, with 43 each, followed by Ramallah with 38 and al-Quds with 25.
These attacks comprised 68 cases of property destruction and theft, which affected vast swaths of Palestinian territory.
Furthermore, settlers removed 642 trees, including 610 olive trees, primarily in al-Khalil (292), Jenin (250), and al-Quds (100).
The study also noted the deliberate targeting of the Arab al-Mleihat settlement northwest of Ariha, where settlers built a road around the region and set fire to the community mosque in an attempt to displace locals.
In February, Israeli occupation authorities also executed 79 demolitions, impacting 156 properties, including 109 inhabited homes.
The most serious demolitions were in al-Khalil, with 55 structures destroyed, followed by Jenin (26), al-Quds (19), and Salfit (15).
In addition, 93 demolition orders were issued, with the majority concentrated in Nablus (25), Tulkarm (24), al-Khalil (13), and Tubas (8).
Last month, Peace Now, an Israeli watchdog, revealed how the Israeli Higher Planning Council plans to authorize 1,170 additional housing units in illegal West Bank settlements, further entrenching occupation and displacement.
In July, an advisory opinion issued by the ICJ found that the Israeli occupation of al-Quds and the West Bank since 1967 is illegal and has resulted in settlement policies that breach international law.
"Israel" is "under the obligation to bring to an end its unlawful presence as rapidly as possible," the ICJ ruling read.
