IOF kill 60-year-old Palestinian in Nablus
The Palestinian health ministry says an elderly man died after sustaining injuries at the hands of the IOF in Nablus, West Bank.
An elderly Palestinian man died on Saturday, several days after sustaining injuries at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces. He was injured on Tuesday during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces Nablus, local media reported.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Hussein Qawariq, 60, was fatally injured on the Hawara crossroad near Nablus.
Palestinian media reported that Qawariq was collecting empty cans and bottles off the roadside when the Israeli occupation troops shot him, seriously injuring him.
He was in critical condition, and despite being on the pavement and bleeding, the Israeli occupation forces refused to allow the Palestinian Red Crescent to provide care for the Qawariq.
The IOF then took Qawariq in a military vehicle to the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
The city of Nablus has eight military checkpoints erected in its vicinity by the Israeli occupation forces, which it uses as obstacles to prevent ambulances from reaching parts of the West Bank or obstruct the freedom of Palestinian civilians and arbitrarily arresting them.
The Israeli occupation forces took Qawariq's life just a day after troops shot dead on Friday a Palestinian teenager in the village of Al-Mughayer, close to Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Amjad Nashaat Abu Alia, 16, "died of critical wounds sustained by live bullets in the chest," during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces near the village of Al-Mughayer, close to Ramallah, the Ministry added in a statement.
The confrontations took place after IOF used excessive force to disperse around 300 to 400 Palestinians who had gathered for a protest march against illegal Israeli settlement expansion in the area.
"Israel" killed at least 53 Palestinians since late March, mostly in the occupied West Bank, including Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was covering an Israeli raid in Jenin.
