The Israeli occupation forces martyred Tuesday a Palestinian worker in the city of Askalan in southern occupied Palestine.

According to Israeli media, the 37-year-old worker allegedly stabbed an Israeli police officer, wounding him in the hand.

The occupation forces claimed that the worker stabbed the officer with a knife after he was asked to show his identity and work permit. The Israeli officer then shot the Palestinian worker who was martyred on spot.

The city of Jenin is witnessing armed confrontations between Palestinian resistance fighters and occupation forces, which stormed, Tuesday morning, several neighborhoods in the city.

Palestinian media reported that Israeli special units stormed the eastern neighborhood using vehicles bearing Palestinian license plates and encircled several buildings after deploying snipers on top of a number of houses.

Resistance fighters opened fire on the IOF, who stormed the home of journalist Mujahid Al-Saadi.
