IOF refuse to release prisoner Awawdeh despite critical condition
The Israeli Supreme Court rejects a petition to release the Palestinian prisoner who is on hunger strike, Khalil Awawdeh, for the second time in a row, completely disregarding his critical health condition.
The Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation reported today, Friday, that the so-called Israeli Supreme Court rejected a petition to release the Palestinian prisoner who is on hunger strike, Khalil Awawdeh, for the second time in a row, despite the criticality of his health condition.
Today, Friday, marks Awawdeh's 86th consecutive day on an open hunger strike, against his arbitrary administrative detention.
Last Monday, the occupation forces transferred Khalil Awawdeh from the Ramle prison clinic to a civilian hospital inside the occupied territories due to his deteriorating health.
Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation mentioned that the Israeli occupation prisons administration brought Awawdeh to the Supreme Court session by ambulance, and he was rolled into the courtroom in a wheelchair, despite his serious health condition.
The Foundation held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of the prisoner because of their delay in responding to his just demands to cancel his arbitrary administrative detention decision.
At the beginning of this month, the Prisoners Club reported that the occupation prisons administration transferred prisoner Khalil Awawdeh who is suffering from severe weakness to the "Asaf Harofeh" hospital.
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities arrested Awawdeh on December 27, 2021, and a six-month administrative detention order was issued against him. He has previously been arrested several times since 2002, and this is the fifth arrest, including three administrative detentions.
