Iran executes one terrorist over Mossad-linked drone attack
Iranian media say the terroristĀ planned to explode the workshop complex of the Ministry of Defense in Isfahan last year.
Iran's judiciary has executed a terrorist over a drone attack that targeted a defense ministry site in central Iran last year, state media reported on Sunday.
According to state TV, the terrorist "planned to explode the workshop complex of the Ministry of Defence in Isfahan under guidance of the intelligence officer of Mossad," "Israel's" spy agency.
Iran's Intelligence Ministry said in February 2023 that it had arrested the "main actors" involved in the drone attack on a defense ministry site in Isfahan, home to the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility.
The previous month, an anti-aircraft system destroyed a drone, and two others exploded during an attack on a defense ministry facility in the province, officials said at the time.
According to the Iranian Defense Ministry, the night-time attack left no casualties and only caused minor damage. Iran's official news agency IRNA said the strike had targeted "an ammunition manufacturing plant."
In August last year, Iranian authorities confirmed they foiled a "very complex" Mossad-initiated project to sabotage the country's ballistic missile industry.
In January, Iranian media reported that four terrorist agents affiliated with the Israeli Mossad spy agency were executed.
The media indicated that the four had entered Iran illegally from Kurdistan, Iraq, and were planning to carry out an operation against the Defense Ministry facility in Najaf Abad, Isfahan province, on July 23, 2023, however, they were detained by the Iranian intelligence forces before the plan's execution.
The four terrorists were identified and recruited by a Mossad senior member of the Komala terrorist group about a year and a half before their operation, and it was revealed that they had training sessions in the military headquarters of several African countries in the presence of several Mossad officers and even the chief of Mossad, David Barnea, who attended one of the sessions for "motivating team members."
