Iran has executed six members of a separatist terrorist network linked to "Israel," following convictions for planning and carrying out multiple deadly operations in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, according to the country’s judiciary.
The terrorists, responsible for assassinating four security officers and carrying out a bombing in Khorramshahr in recent years, were executed on Saturday morning after all legal procedures were completed and their sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court.
The Judiciary stated that the convicted individuals “directly participated in the assassination of police and security officers” and admitted to planning and executing numerous sabotage operations. These included manufacturing and planting bombs, bombing a Khorramshahr gas station, launching armed attacks on banks, throwing grenades at a military center, and firing on mosques.
Authorities also reported that the network maintained contact with the Israeli entity and received support from hostile foreign elements.
Takfiri terrorist convicted of killing Sunni Cleric Executed
In a similar vein, Saman Mohammadi Khiyareh, a member of a Takfiri terrorist group convicted of assassinating Sunni cleric Mamosta Mohammad Sheikh-ol-Islam in 2009, was executed on Friday.
According to the Judiciary, Khiyareh “was found guilty of planning and leading the operation that resulted in the assassination of Sheikh-ol-Islam.” The cleric was shot dead outside a mosque in Sanandaj on September 17, 2009, immediately after leading the Isha evening prayer.
Khiyareh’s conviction also included a terrorist attack on the Sanandaj Police Headquarters, an armed robbery of a gold shop in Hamedan, and a carjacking that resulted in the murder of the driver. Further charges involved shooting at civilians and leading an armed assault on a police station in Sanandaj, which resulted in the death of a soldier.
Following the collapse of his terrorist network, Khiyareh went into hiding, moving between several cities, including Baneh, Bukan, and Hashtgerd County in Alborz Province. He was ultimately arrested on December 29, 2013, through a coordinated intelligence and operational effort by Iranian security forces.
Iran executes man convicted of espionage for Israeli Mossad
Last month, Iran executed a man convicted of working for "Israel’s" Mossad intelligence agency, the country’s judiciary announced on Monday.
The defendant, identified as Bahman Choubi-Asl, was put to death after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction for what officials described as “extensive and conscious cooperation with the Israeli spy service in the database field.”
Choubi-Asl, a database expert, had been employed at a knowledge-based company that managed sensitive telecommunications projects. Authorities said his managerial role gave him broad access to Iran’s “vital and sovereign databases.”
According to judicial reports, Mossad operatives first targeted Choubi-Asl while he was attending a specialist course in a Gulf country. Using a front company called ESMI, they established contact and later arranged for him to travel to Armenia, later changed to India, where he was offered financial incentives and training.
He subsequently underwent a 45-day program in Ireland, where a Persian-speaking handler reportedly briefed him on Iranian infrastructure and database systems.
